Tech Help & Training

Shoalhaven Libraries offers a range of services to help you with technology. Whether you want to learn something new, or quickly resolve a problem, we can help!


Tech Classes

Each month, library staff offer free tech classes on a variety of subjects including email, internet, mobile devices, Microsoft Word, resumes, shopping online, cyber safety, and more. Classes for 2018 have ended, but check back in 2019 (or visit our Eventbrite page) to see what's coming up! 


Local high school students visit Nowra Library on Tuesdays from noon until 1pm (during school term) to help seniors with their tech queries. Bring your device and your questions! Phone 4429 3705 for details. 


Tech Tuesday

Come into Nowra Library on a Tuesday if you have a computer question or need help with your device, including smartphones and tablets. Sessions last a maximum of ten minutes and are run by our friendly volunteer staff. These sessions are on a drop in basis only and cannot be booked.

One-on-One Tutorials

Hour long one-on-one training sessions with library staff are available on request. Sessions can include introductory or advanced internet and technology training covering email, tablets, social media and more. Contact Nowra Library on 4429 3705 for more information or to make a booking. Please note fees apply for one- on-one tutorials. 

The Computer School

Learn how to use PCs, tablets, smart phones: Apple, Windows, Android: email, Facebook, Twitter, MS Office, Skype, blogs and much more. Easy step by step tutorials for absolute beginners and more advanced users. Please visit our databases page to log in.

Shoalhaven Community College

Shoalhaven Community College offers FREE Tech Savvy Seniors classes, including Introduction to Computers, Introduction to iPads and iPhones, Introduction to Android Tablets and Smartphones. Limited places so book early.

They also offer drop-in computer help sessions called Silver Fox Computer Help. These sessions are a place for seniors to get help with computer software, programs, phone, tablet or other device.  There is a small fee.
